MEET TODD

Todd was born and raised in southwestern Minnesota, in the Lakefield area.  He grew up as a farm boy and went to a rural Lutheran school until eighth grade.  In Lakefield High School (now defunct), he was active in many student activities, including the Future Farmers of America (FFA).

Todd attended college at the University of Minnesota on the Morris campus, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and Computer Science.  After graduation, he married his high school sweetheart Kaye.  He would later augment his education with an M.S. from Carlson School of Management in 2006.

Todd and his wife moved into the local area in 1988, working as software engineers for electric utilities.  Years later, after a job change and some mergers, Todd currently is working for Oracle Corporation as an energy management consultant.

Todd and Kaye bought their current home in New Hope in 1991, just as their first son was born. They now have three adult children who were all educated in the Robbinsdale School District.  All three were able to take advantage of the Spanish Immersion program.

Todd and his family have attended City Hill Church (formerly New Testament Church) in Eden Prairie since 1988, and Todd has been a deacon there for a decade.  He applied to the New Hope Police Reserve program (a volunteer position) in 2007, and he has been the captain of the reserve unit for the last seven years.

Todd has been active in local Republican politics for three decades.  In 2004, he took over the treasurer position for Senate District 45 (predecessor to the current Senate District 43) and maintained that position for 18 years.  In that time, he has been treasurer for several local campaigns, and also held other local leadership positions.
